Our history

The Montessori Method of education was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori (1870 – 1952). Dr. Montessori, an Italian physician and educator dedicated her life to understanding the early development of the human psyche. Her primary focus of research was on how we develop our learning techniques and ways to improve them.

After her years of extensive research Dr. Montessori turned her attention towards education and developed the Montessori Method of learning. This method uses specially designed materials to help children learn critical thinking, social skills, and creativity in a fun and engaging way. The teachers are specially trained to incorporate these materials in a non-invasive way that gives the child a sense of freedom and self-accomplishment.

It’s widely documented that early childhood is the most important period of time in the brain’s development. It’s at this time that the neural connections of the brain are rapidly being formed and we begin to develop our individual learning habits.

Heritage Montessori utilizes brilliantly and specifically designed Montessori materials in the classrooms. Our teachers engage a wide variety of tools to make learning fun and engaging for our students. Whether it’s learning through games, puzzles, or activities, our teachers use Montessori approved materials that help captivate our students’ curious minds.

montessori benefits

A Montessori education offers children the opportunity to develop their potential as individuals. It allows their natural curiosity to steer them towards the subjects that interest them. Students are most productive when they enjoy learning and are taught in an interesting engaging manner.

Each child is valued as a unique individual. Montessori education recognizes that children learn in different ways, and accommodates all learning styles. Students are encouraged to develop their own individual personalities and interact with a diverse blend of other students.

teacher quality

In order to achieve these goals, all of our lead teachers are Montessori certified from American Montessori Association (AMA) or North American Montessori Teachers Association (NAMTA) or Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) founded by Dr. Maria Montessori.
